Working together for a better quality of life

This programme is aimed at people who may be experiencing anxiety, depression or distress in their lives and wanting to make healthy lifestyle changes.
The first step to accessing this programme is to see your GP and discuss the changes you wish to make in your life. Following the consultation your GP may refer you to the Harbour Health Lifestyle Options Programme.
The Lifestyle Options/Mental Health Co-ordinator will contact you to see if you would benefit from e-therapy as a first step to healthy lifestyle change. e-Therapy is an internet based approach to mental health and has proven very effective in the treatment of depression and anxiety problems. It is accessed in the privacy of your home and involves working through a series of easy to understand lessons, on the net. e-Therapy gives people new skills to help resolve depression and anxiety, and this can feel very empowering. The Co-ordinator will help with information and making appointments, and is there to provide you with support during e-therapy. If you have improved following e-therapy you can still a counselor/therapist/psychologist for a 1:1 consultation. If e-therapy is not suitable for you, 1:1 sessions with a counselor/therapist/psychologist will be arranged. You are initially eligible for 4 sessions and there may be an opportunity to ‘step-up’ for more sessions, if funds are available.
